The unfinished Atlantic Yards project by Forest City Ratner in Brooklyn in New York
The unfinished Atlantic Yards project by Forest City Ratner in Brooklyn in New York is seen on Friday, August 29, 2014. Skanska, the enormous Swedish construction company has pulled the plug on the project shutting down its modular unit factory and any construction on the 32 store site (which has only 10 stories finished). Although the manufacture of prefabricated units was supposed to save money and time it has done neither and Skanska is in a dispute with Forest City Ratner over cost overruns. The projects was supposed to include affordable housing and was part of the deal to construct the Barclays Center next door. (© Richard B. Levine)
