The gym-nasium, which is an excellent and well equipped building, isopen at all times for the use ofstudents. In football Lawrence won thestate championship in 1914 and hasheld the championship more yearsthan any other college in Wiscon-sin. Games are played regularlywith one or more of the large uni-versities, the following having inrecent years been included in thelist: Chicago, Wisconsin, and Min-nesota. Basketball is much played atLawrence. The college has playedthe best teams in the middle westand won the state championshiplast year. The track team is also
