A 19th century sextant Brass (partly green lacquered), nickel, wood, glass. A small metal plate inset in the wooden handle, with naval acceptance mark "M 53" underneath an imperial crown. Extremely fine scale division engraved in nickel, one arm with manufacturer's mark "W. Ludolph, Bremerhaven" as well as number "357". In the original wooden box with additional parts (incomplete).
