The upper tail covers, andthe tail, are black ; but the shaft of the outermost feather, andalso its internal tip, are white. In some specimens the rufouson the throat is much paler than in others, so as to become ofa buff orange. 98. Tanagrella slender, lengthened. hi Plumage, above, black; be-neath, varied : ears, chin, sideof the head, and lesser wingcovers, shining blue green:rump and frontal spot golden :belly and vent rufous: breast and flanks cinereouswhite : throat with a black collar: upper tail coversblue green.
