Robertson enlistedin November 1914 as. 69 IN MEMORIAM. a private in the 4th Gordon Highlanders ; inJanuary 1915 he was commissioned 2nd Lieu-tenant in the 9th Battalion, and afterwards roseto the rank of Lieutenant. He saw much servicein France and Belgium, was several timeswounded, once severely, and in April 1917 wasawarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gal-lantry. On 27 August 1917 he died of woundsreceived in action at Ypres the previous was an earnest and conscientiousstudent, and for several years rendered valuableservice in connection with a Mission of whichhe had charge in the neighbourhood of early death destroyed the promise of a use-ful ministry.
