Common Swift (apus apus) Unique breeding behaviour.

The old cottages, especially those with pan tile roofs that create such suitable gaps under the tile for the swifts to get into the roof are being 'renovated' and too often cemented up thereby preventing the swifts from getting in. The swifts only want to get a few inches under the tile where they make their nest, they do not like walking and prefer the distance between nest and 'outside' to be the shortest distance possible.
