Stroke physiotherapy. Hand of a stroke patient and his physiotherapist. He is being rehabilitated by therapeutic exercise carefully designed to restore mobility. A stroke causes damage to the brain and can cause partial or complete paralysis. The brain may eventually regain control over the paralysed areas, or techniques can be learnt to compensate for loss of mobility. Photographed at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, England.
