A species closely related to P. freieslebeni, but distinguished,according to the original diagnosis, by the less tapering form of thecaudal region, the relatively larger size of the head, the greaterbreadth of the opercular apparatus, and the comparative straightnessand elongation of the branchiostegal rays. The scales of the flank arealso said to be less vertically elongated than those of the type species—a somewhat doubtful distinction. Form. Sf Loc. Upper Permian: Thuringia. Figr.
