(Sep. 5, 2017) Electronics Technician 2nd Class Cody Lewis, from Godfrey, Illinois, is surprised with a gender reveal on the pier as the Blue crew of the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Alabama (SSBN 731) returns home following a routine strategic deterrent patrol. Alabama is one of eight ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base providing the most survivable leg of the strategic deterrence triad for the United States.
