CHIEF of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Frank B. Kelso II and his official party board a Light Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron 36 (HSL-36) SH-2F Sea Sprite helicopter aboard the guided missile frigate USS NICHOLAS (FFG-47). The CNO was flown aboard the NICHOLAS to present personal awards to six members of the ship's crew. The NICHOLAS is en route to its home port at Naval Station, Charleston, , after serving in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
