A sword for officers,of Infantry of the Würzburg Rhine Confederation,style of wear from 1806. Straight blade of flattened hexagonal cross section,both sides halfway fullered,brass-inlaid wolf marks within each fuller. Gilt brass knuckle-bow hilt of multiple cast parts,symmetrical guard. Cipher "F" on obverse grip(for Ferdinand III of Tuscany)beneath a prince's crown,the reverse with "W"(Würzburg). The blade slightly stained,the gilding somewhat rubbed. Length 100 cm.
