Red-lipped Batfish in the Galapagos Archipelago

The red-lipped batfish is a disk-shaped body fish. The pectoral and ventral fins appear more as legs. The circular gill is located behind the pectoral fins. His inhabit is sand areas. He moves with hoplike movements. The red-lipped swim occasionally short distances by spreading pectora fins as wings and making broad sideways strokes with their tail. That shot was taken during a night at Bartholome Island.
