Exhibitors who compete will be awarded cards, as there will be no cash prizes. Harry Goodband, Cor. Sec'y. FORT WAYNE, IND. The Market. The supply of cut flowers is larjye; in fact, there is almost a glut in the market. Carnations never before have been so abundant at this time of the year and roses are exceptionally numer- ous. While peonies are crowding the market, they as yet have not reached the height of tlicir season. Easter lilies are in tremendous supply and there is a flood of outdoor stock. Indoor gladioli, however, are not plentiful and orchids are off crop at present. The demand has centered on wedding decorations. The first part of last week vas quiet, but there was more life dur- ng the last days. A commencement dance last week occasioned a demand for a large number of corsages, but fu- neral work is slack. Counter trade is about normal for this time of the year. Various Notes. W. .T. & M. S. Vesey are devoting two houses to tomato ])lants—1,600 of them, the fruit of which is wholesaling at 15 cents per pound. The men are cutting heavily of carnations and replanting the rose houses. The gloxinias seen at tliis establishment are of mammoth size.
