A dead Minke Whale, washed up onto Cromer beach, Norfolk, UK on 22nd November 2013

A dead female Minke Whale washed up on Cromer beach in Norfolk on 22nd November 2013. Believed to have been dead for 1 - 2 weeks, it had deep gashes on it's back, probably where it had been struck by the propellor of a boat. It is assumed that this was not the cause of death, but that it occurred once it was already dead. Shortly after this photo was taken, contractors from North Norfolk District Council removed the whale carcass & it was taken away to landfill.
