From the origin of the Britishand Foreign Bible Society in 1804, its Committeeassisted Dr. Carey and his coadjutors to print theversions of the Holy Scriptures they had the year 1827 this aid was freely and largelygiven, when objections were raised by a few Paedo-baptist missionaries in Calcutta, on the ground thatthe translators construed into the languages of Indiathe Greek words in reference to baptism by termssignifying immersion.
