NGC 346 open star cluster, JWST image

NGC 346 open star cluster, James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) image. Hot energised hydrogen gas is pink, while cold dense molecular hydrogen gas and associated dust is orange. Within the colder regions ribbons of gas and dust form as they collapse into newly forming stars. NGC 346 is located around 200,000 light years from Earth, in the Small Magellanic Cloud, in the constellation of Tucana. Image obtained by the Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam)
