Natural light view grey walls painted with graffiti scrawl, top of stairwell to Neurotitan Shop, Rosenthaler Strasse 39, Berlin

Hackescher Hofe, adjacent to Hackescher Markt, in the centre of Berlin, is a series of eight interconnected courtyards, accessed through the main arched entrance at 40 Rosenthaler Strasse. The arched entrance gives rise to a 'Graffiti Alley', which leads towards the Ann Frank Centre, which opened in June 1998. The Centre is one of a cluster of different cultural institutions in a single, historical building (Schwarzenberg House). Graffiti scrawl artwork covers the walls and windows in the stairwell to the Neurotitan Shop, which sells alternative art books, comics and a small selection of vinyl records.
