Perhaps the greatest impetus the pro-fession of this community has ever hadhas been in the establishment of the CityHospital, one of the most complete andbest equipped general hospitals operatedby any city in the state. The capacity ofthe hospital, including the contagionbuilding, is 100 beds. There is in con-nection a training school for nurses, un-der the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Hart-sock. There are at present twenty-twopupil nurses, and three graduate nursesconnected with the Representatioe Citizens. GOV. ASA SMITH BUSHNELL, whowas once the chief executive of the greatCommonwealth of Ohio, in passing out oflife left behind him a record of public serv-ice and private virtue which places hisname among the distinguished citizens ofthe state. Mr. Bushnell was bom September 16,1834, at Eomo, Oneida County, New York,and Avas a son of Daniel and Harriet(Smith) Bushnell. He belonged to one ofthe prominent colonial families of NewEngland and was descended from Rev-olutionary stock. His grandfather, JasonBushnell, a native of Connecticut, servedin the War of the Revolution, and died atLisbon, Connecticut, full of years andhonors. Daniel Bushnell, father of thegovernor, was born at Lisbon, February7, 1800, and died at Oberlin, Ohio. Fora number of years he resided in NewYork, but came to Ohio in 1845, settlingfirst at Cincinnati and later at March 9, LS25, he married
