An Austrian two-hand sword, circa 1580 Blade of diamond section, broadening towards the point with a long ricasso, the guards are stamped with the mark "G". Extended quillons with volute ornaments, both guard rings curling around stylised fleur-de-lys. Grip with leather cover of later date, which has been largely removed. Double tapered pommel with five fullers.
