The tiger carrying the fawn after it finally was caught MAHARASHTA, INDIA HARROWING IMAGES show the moment a tiger catches a chital fawn and carries it away to dinner. Images show the tiger chasing the fawn who initially appears to be escaping before returning from the overgrowth with its limp body in its mouth. Over the last 10 years the tiger population has increased drastically here due to the forest department's efforts to relocate the villages outside the national park and also awareness among locals to not to disturb them and co-exist peacefully. These images were captured by photographer Sadananda Koppalkar (43) in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, India. He captured the raw moment in nature on his Nikon D500 camera with Nikon 200-400mm f/4 lens. ?These shots tell us stories which can take people into that situation and imagine how the scene happened,? said Sanananda. ?They help us witness the behavior of tigers which we only read in books and hear from word of mouth. ?The pictures depict the behavior of a sub-adult tiger learning how to hunt in early days in presence of its mother which is a very rare to witness in the wild. ?Probably a handful of people in the world would have seen such an activity of a tiger learning to hunt. ?I felt extremely lucky to have witnessed such an event in the wild. I thanked nature for blessing me with such dream sightings. ?My favorite shot is the one where Tiger is carrying the fawn. I can see those eyes of a fawn expressing so much emotion. ?I think people will be awestruck with the images once they know the story behind those images. ?Because such moments happen once in a lifetime and with a natural history moment like this it compels people to just start imagining the way it happened in the ENDS
