NORSE & SEALS, 8 Merrimack Sq. Memben Florists' Telegraph Association much cooler weather greatly helped the growers, and stock of all kinds showed great improvement in quality. The first part of the week the retailers had plenty to do, furnishing plants and de- signs for fall openings at downtown department stores, but the bad weather killed off the transient trade in all parts of the city. In looking over the wholesale mar- kets we found an overabundance of asters and short-stemmed carnations, which were generally left over after the morning Bales and had to be sold cheaply in large lots in order to dispose of them. Boses sold up pretty clean all week, as thete is a short supply of first grade stock. The Killarney vari- eties are in best supply. Some extra fine Eichmond and Sunburst were to be had daily. Beauties are not any too plentiful at present. There still are plenty of gladioli, and quantities of inferior asters. New smilax is begin- ning to arrive, but not enough to go around. Other greens are to be had in any quantity. Various Notes. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Fehr, of Belle- ville, 111., spent Friday, September 19, in the city buying supplies. Mr. Fehr reports a good summer business. C. Young & Sons Co. has an attrac- tive window display of fall bulbs, and has issued a handsome fall catalogue.
