The officers of the staff never lost sight of the fact that their role was whollyand solely that of servants of the fighting men. While it was at Camp Logan, the death rate in the Thirty-third Divisionwas the lowest in the American army. In Europe, its health rate rankedamong the very highest in the A. E. F.
