In one instance in which the pregnancy terminated after several monthswithout rupture, at an autopsy many years later an abscess was found in therudimentary horn containing fetal bones. In another case the fetal bones were found, covered with lime salts, on thepelvic floor, and there was a well-defined scar in the rudimentary uterus. An accurate diagnosis is always difficult to make. If the case is seen afterrupture there will usually be no time to go into greater detail than to determinethe existence of an intrapelvic hemorrhage due to an abnormal pregnancy.
