Dr. Valentine Mott. Hosea Beebe was a leading agriculturistof Canaan. His son, Richard, born October 12, 1824, took up thestudy of medicine, was graduated from Berkshire Medical College, classof 1853, remained for two years thereafter in the practice of his pro-fession with Dr. Timothy Childs, Pittsfield, and in 1855 establishedhim
