Memorial to Philip Wheelock Ayres (1861-1945) at Echo Lake Beach in Franconia Notch State Park in Franconia, New Hampshire. Ayres was the first forester of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests; this memorial was dedicated on October 3, 1947. He played a big roll in the creation of Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest.
