For the next three yearshe was Professor of Biology in the Ontario Agricul-tural College. In 1884 he became an instructtr inJohns Hopkins University at lidtimore, where healso completed studies for the degree of Doctor ofPhilosophy in 1886. For the following three yearshe was Professor of Biology in Haverford 1889 he was called to Clark University as Assist-ant Professor of Animal Morphology. In 1S92 hebecame Professor of Biology in the University ofCincinnati, and in 1894 Professor of Anatomy atthe University of Michigan. In 1S98 he also becamedirector of the Anatomical Laboratory. From 1890to 1893 he was secretary of the American Morpho-logical Society, and has been a member of the execu-tive committee and president of the Central Branc
