Golden phoenix and coloured chrysanthemums decorate the roof of a building in the Shinsho-ji temple, Narits Japan


Shinsho-ji in Narita was founded in 940 to commemorate the suppression of a revolt by Kanto samurai. A visit merits many hours and is well worth the short train ride from the airport.
