A colourful parade with marching bands, flag-bearers, with many people wearing masks and colourful costumes in the image of witches, devils and grotesque animals, goes through central Stuttgart for carnival Tuesday 2019. Streets in the city come to life with colourful costumes, loud music, and sweets given to the crowd. For many Germans, the season of Fasching is celebrated with feasts, parades, music and many "foolish" events to have fun before Lent which begins on Ash Wednesday
