By the publication of two books on Sweet Peas, of which we have distributed more than one hundred thousand copies, and by offering each year a special collection at a nominal price (see lithographed leaflet enclosed,—Seven Superb Sweet Peas for 25 cents), we have probably done more than the combined efforts of all other seeds- men in America to make SWEET PEAS the People's Flower. The great novelty of last year was Blanche Buepee, which Me. Eckfoed pronounced by far the finest Sweet Pea ever produced. We are now unusually fortunate in being able to offer Five Geaxd Novelties foe 1896, shown in the Colored Plate opposite, all of which can he had only direct from us. The year 1896 will long be remembered in the annals of horticulture as witnessing the introduction of the greatest novelty in flowers ever known,—Cupid, the unique dwarf Sweet Pea, described on pages 120, 121, 122, and 123. For this "floral wonder" we received the highest possible awards from both The Royal Horticultural Society, of England, and The Societe Rationale d1 Horticulture, of France.
