A german tournament helmet, circa 1580. The skull forged in one piece rising to a tall comb. Two-piece pivoting visor. The upper visor pierced on both sides for the attachment of reinforcing plates. Single vision slit. On both sides several rhombus-shaped ventilation holes. Bevor with prominent ridged chin. A spring-loaded closure hook on one side. Metal surface pitted.
