Cpl. Keen Polk, 8th Company, captured an image of stretcher bearers carrying wounded soldiers to the rear. They had to use eight relay stations due to lack of roads for traffic. The photograph was taken near La Chalade, Ardennes, France. The image was received and taken on October 2, 1918, and was described as the stretcher bearers' activity. It was later approved by the censor. The photo's corresponding description number is 29853.
