25 June 1916 - Serbia Day', French World War I poster, 1916. Soldiers and civilians carry their possessions across a snow-covered bridge. The poster commemorates the Battle of Kosovo, a heavy defeat for the Serbs during World War I. Serbia was conquered by the combined armies of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria in 1915, suffering appalling military and civilian casualties in the process. By Charles Fouqueray.
