The recruits’ drill instructors briefed the parameters of each challenge and set the expectations for the recruits before they began. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 2.
