Above these is an elaborate frieze, in the Cinque Cento style, bearing medallions of her Majesty, the Prince Consort, and all the Royal whole was designed by Mr. John ably carried out under the superintendence of Mr. majolica ware and encaustic tiles were manufactured expressly for this work by Messrs.
