There are still a few nrnms to be had, chiefly such varieties as Bonnaifon and Seidewitz, in small blooms, and also baby pompons. Potted plants moved so well that it seemed scarcely likely there would be sufficient to meet the demand expected, for they were not plentiful. Ordinary grades of carnations are being quoted by the wholesalers at $10 per hundred, while for red varieties $20 to $25 is being asked. No azaleas have been seen or heard of and it appears to be generally con- sidered that the cyclamen will be the Christmas favorite from now on. Judg- ing by the beautiful and shapely speci- mens grown in Massachusetts, they will easily hold a first-rank position. Various Notes. Kenny, Florist, 185 Central street, last week had a dainty arrangement in his show window, consisting of coleus, red begonias, cyclamens and baskets of foli- age, red berries, etc. James J. McManmon visited Boston December 10, looking for implements for his farm and buying holly. This firm was in good shape for Christmas trade, being well supplied with all kinds of potted plants, including a splendid batch of cyclamens and a good crop of carnations. C. Eobinson, of the H. M. Robinson Co., was optimistic regarding the prices stock would bring for Christmas and regarding the amount of business, say- ing that people would readily pay the higher prices. E. E. R. V.
