Xiomara Espinosa, a medical officer from the HHT, 2nd Squadron, 104th Calvary Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvania National Guard stands in line Aug. 1 as her Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System gear is checked for functionality. MILES gear simulates direct enemy fire in battlefield combat. Medics with the 56th SBCT will participate in readiness training at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Ca. through casualty rescue and medical evacuation procedures.
