The monument and statue named the "Eternal Flame of Hope" erected in 2018 just outside Soldier Field in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics World Games. Chicago's Soldier Field was the site of the first and 50rh Special Olympic World Games. The monument is made of steel and sors to a height of 30 feet. According to its sculpture Richard Hunt, a Chicago native, the artwork is to honor the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics and symbolizes the Special Olympics' theme of inclusion and unity, as well as hope.
