BIRCH—Weeping Cut-Leaved Birch (Be- tuta alba, var. pendula laciniata)\— charming tree in the Northern States, but does not show so much beauty South, except in very favorable loca- tions; it is of very graceful, drooping habit, silvery-white bark, and deli- cate, cut foliage. MOUNTAIN ASH—Weeping Mountain Ash (Sorbusaiiciipariapendula)—The branches of this distinct variety are of a straggling, pendant habit; a rapid grower. WILLOW—Common Weeping Willow (Salix Iiabylonica)—A native of Asia.
