Bicycles that are part of the London rent a bike scheme on the banks of the River Thames with the Houses of Parliament behind.

The London Hire a Bike scheme was introduced in the summer of 2010 and is run by Transport for London. Members of the scheme may collect bicycles at various points around the capital and leave them at other points. At the outset of the plan, use of bikes for periods of less than 30 minutes was free. Barclays have since discontinued their sponsorship of the scheme, which is still ongoing, but has other sponsors now.
