THE FORESTRY CONGRESS. The recent meeting of the American Forestry Congress at Montreal cannot fail to have a bene- ficial effect. The growing attention paid to the subject of the preservation of the remaining for- est, and the establishment of plantations on the prairies, is manifest by the numerous articles on the subject that have with increasing frequency appeared in the journals both of Canada and the United States.
