Lucy the Elephant from the back. Tail bent slightly to the left showing window high up on backside. Open air Howdah rising above her back. Can see past her stout legs under her belly to decending trunk in is a functioning building with windows in her flanks she stands six stories tall, weighs 90 tons and is a wood constructed building covered with 12,000 square feet of sheet tin. Lucy depicts a male Asian elephant sporting a pink blanket with a large brown open-air "howdah" on her back. Lucy is the world's largest elephant, and the only one in America designated as a National Historic Landmark. She is the oldest example of Zoomorphic architecture. Built in 1882 and saved and totally refurbished in 1970
