For early use, sow the early varieties as soon as the ground opens in the spring, in drills from twelve to fifteen inches apart. Thin out to from six to nine inches in the rows. Or, if sown broadcast they will produce a fine crop, but not as large as if sown in drills. Keep the ground well stirred and free of weeds. For a succession, continue to sow every two weeks until June, then discontinue until the middle of July. For a fall and winter [crop, sow on potato ground, making your last sowing not later than the first of September. WHITE-FRESHED KINDS. Extra Early Purple-Top Milan. The earliest variety of turnip. Top small, erect, strap-leaved; bulb very flat, a deed purple above, white underneath; flesh white, firm and delicate. An excellent keeper. Pkt. 5c; 1 oz. 10c; Xlb- 30c; 1 lb. 90c. Extra Early White Milan. As early as the above and a beautiful pure white. Pkt. 5c; loz. 10c: X lb. 30c; 1 lb. $ Early Red-Top Strap I,eaved. One of the best; flat and good size.
