Leopard moth


Leopard moth (Zeuzera pyrina). The flight period of this moth is usually June to September. It occurs in gardens, woodlands and orchards and is found mainly in Europe as well as North Africa and Asia. The larvae feed on a wide range of deciduous trees and shrubs and are known to be pests in fruit production. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in June.
