Simonson, of McPherson, Kan., stopped over on her way home from Hillsdale, Mich., where she at- tended her mother's funeral. May 9. The Pinchurst Floral Co. has had a heavy plant business at the greenhouses here. Two truck loads of plants were sent from Pleasant Hill Saturday, May 21. These were in addition to the regu- lar stock sent up every day. Ray Blessing, shipping clerk for the T. J. Noll Floral Co., has been laid up for two weeks with blood poisoning. William Foitli's carnation crof) will be as good for Memorial day as it was for Christmas. Ho expects to get top prices. His sweet peas beat anything he has ever had at this time of year. Miss J. E. Murray attended the open- ing of James Hays' new store at To- peka, Kan., May 16. The store is an attractive ]>lace and was crowded the opening day. An orchestra played all afternoon and evening and 8,000 roses were given away. J. E. K. FORT WAYNE, IND. The Market. Stock is plentiful now. but the crops are shortening up and the supply will not be as largo for Memorial day as it was for Mothers' day. The indications are that there will be a heavy demand for cut flowers as well as plants at that time. "Old Sol" lias been working hard this week and has given us a pretty hot time for a few days, which has helped to develop the peonies. N
