Pow Wows have been growing in popularity since the 1950's, although they have been around for centuries. Pow Wows are held on reserves and cities all over Canada. They showcase Indigenous music, dances, regalia, food and crafts. Pow Wows are often to non-Indigenous, Metis, and Inuit peoples alike. Pow Wows play an important part in many Indigenous peoples' lives, as it's a place to visit family and friends, celebrate cultural heritage and to provide the opportunity for visitors to learn about, Indigenous life and culture.
