Carnations and roses in the Christmas market were of good quality, but the prices asked were too high for the people and considerable stock was left on the florists' hands as a consequence. How- ever, funeral work soon cleaned this up and the market now is back to its ordi- nary pace again. Plants sold well; in fact, most of those offered were taken. Artificial baskets and wreaths also sold well. Easter lilies are arriving in quan- tities, with a fair demand to meet them. The holiday cleaned up practically all the stevia. Carnations and roses are in Rood demand. There is not much call for violets and valley. Calendulas clear well. The scarcity of boxwood created a good demand for magnolia leaves, of which a lar
