A handsome species ; leaves two-ranked, opposite. 75 cents each. A. fruticosa. Very ornamental ; leaves recurved, serrated ; flower spike two feet high, bearing a ter- minal raceme of orange red flowers. 25 cts. to $1 each. A. vulgaris (Bitter or Barbadues Aloes). One of the best of the medicinal aloes and also highly orna- mental ; leaves dark green, spotted white. 15 cents to $1 each. AMARYLLIS.
