Maggie Koke, Harlan Community High School senior, of Harlan, Iowa, learns the difference between night vision and thermal optics at the Sustainment Training Center (STC) during the Iowa National Guard’s inaugural STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Day event at Camp Dodge, in Johnston, Iowa, on Sept. 20. While at STC, students also learned about plasma cutting, metallurgy and calculating amperage.
