MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 14, 2017) Capt. Peter Nilsen, commanding officer of the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) oversees operations from the bridge wing of the ship. Philippine Sea, part of the George Bush Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe and Africa.
