GAETA, Italy (Dec. 1, 2016) – Capt. Kavon Hakimzadeh shakes hands with Capt. Carlos Sardiello during a change of command ceremony aboard the 6th fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) Dec. 1, 2016. Hakimzadeh relieved Sardiello as the 29th commanding officer of Mount Whitney during the ceremony. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
